MZANSI'S popular DJ and producer, Buster 929 gives back to the community.

But his good deed backfired, and he was slammed by social media users.

The Ngixolele hitmaker, whose real name is Tebogo Madingoane (30) from Alexandra, recently posted a video and photos as he was handing out food parcels to members of the community in Alexandra.

Social media users commented on his post and alleged that this was an effort to silence the community on claims that he was dating underaged kids.

The amapiano musician trended on social media in 2023 after pictures emerged of him having fun with an underage girl, who was said to be 17 at the time.

The DJ said he cared less about what people said.

"I prefer to keep quiet and not say anything, whatever is said. Most people focus more on the negative things than the positive things you do. If I have done something wrong, it gets spread on all social media platforms," he said.

He said it has always been his dream to give back to the community because he grew up in Alex and could see how people were suffering financially and couldn't afford to buy food and other essentials.

"I grew up in Alex and sometimes kids go to school or go to bed on empty stomachs," Buster 929 said.

He said he started a non-profit organisation last year to help the community, but it didn't take off due to a lack of funds. He also mentioned that he was in studio working on a project.
