Robert "Kicks" Varrie (49) was allegedly assaulted in July 2023.

Robert was declared dead after being interrogated during the filming of Sizo'kthola in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, on 19 July.

He was later dropped off at the Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The video will help identify some TV crew at the scene when the incident happened.

Vilakazi said the investigation officer had made arrangements to ensure he received the video and proceeded with the investigation.

He added that another footage taken with a cellphone when the incident happened in July last 2023 has been sent to forensics to confirm whether the person captured was former Sizo'kthola presenter Xolani.

Xolani's lawyer and advocate, Prince Mafu, said cops were given enough time to get all the evidence.

"The case was postponed three months ago, but, shockingly, nothing has been done to get the video footage.

"My client is a sole breadwinner, and the longer the case drags, the more he remains on the sidelines of employment, and his family is suffering," said Mafu.
