Gary Player said on Friday, 17 November that he was grateful for the support he received from the sponsors and golfers.

He said the event, which was very close to his heart, supports the initiative of his late wife Vivienne who died of cancer in August 2021.

"In her last words to me, my late wife Vivienne asked me to promise to keep our charity alive and ensure that the children of Blair Atholl Pre-Primary School continue to be cared for," Player said.

He said Vivienne had founded the school on her farm.

"My legacy is to help people through golf wherever we can. Thanks to this tournament and all the wonderful people and businesses involved, our legacy will be the future we create for the young children at Blair Atholl Pre-Primary School," Player said.
