DJ Ree Irene says she loves being surrounded by positive people, and that has made her popular in the entertainment industry.

She said she's training to be a radio presenter and works in production.

The DJ, whose real name is Irene Mahlangu (33), hails from KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga. The single parent works as a nurse, taking care of patients and the elderly.

The versatile singer, presenter and actress said she loves making people smile. She describes herself as passionate, a hard worker, disciplined and in a believer in consistency.

"I'm a dedicated person who always works hard to achieve good results. Despite life challenges, I always make sure I stay focused," she said.

DJ Ree Irene, who works at Die Wilgers Clinic in Tshwane, said she loves radio because it helps her inspire other young people.

"My voice didn't make me choose radio but loving it and being able to tell my story on radio makes me happy," she said.

She said she's still has a lot to learn in the entertainment industry.

The Afro-house and Afro-pop musician has released four singles - Babe ulelephi izolo, Baby I love you, my soul mate and Single which are available on digital stores.

She's working on a gqom EP titled Ungakhathazeki Mama to be released soon.

She said she played a background role in Smoke and Mirror in October 2023.
