POPULAR DJ Lamiez Holworthy is on a mission to empower eight female DJs by giving them a great opportunity.

According to her post on social media, this is in line with giving back to the community and celebrating Women’s Month.

“August is Women’s Month, and the best way to celebrate it is by paying it forward. I believe in women and the power they posses. So for the month of August, I will be partnering with amazing female photographer Thato Boitumelo Mukwevho in choosing eight talented female DJs to have a professional photoshoot done for their portfolios at the newly opened Khuli Chana studios,” she posted.

“Please note that this is an opportunity for those who don’t have the financial support to do it themselves. If you are a female DJ or would like to nominate someone deserving, please inbox me or @thatoboitumelomukwevho with a short background. Those who have been selected will be notified and furnished with the nitty-gritty. Can’t wait to hear from you all,” she said.

Then in a follow-up post, she added that she would always choose collaboration over competition.

“There’s an African proverb that says: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone but it you want to go far, go together’.”
