DJ JAWZ said he lost more money since he started his career as an independent artist.
The musician, whose real name is Itumeleng Sebola, said the biggest challenge he faced was mainly capital to help him do most of the things.
The 40-year-old told Daily Sun this has been a challenge for him. The musician has since got his groove back and is happy with the outcome.
DJ Jawz said he has invested most of it into his music career.
The musician from Seshego in Limpopo said his dreams is to elevate his craft since he's independent.
"The music industry has been great, with a lot of changes. I've been through it all, and it excites me when different genres get to be in the spotlight," DJ Jawz said.
He said it's important to keep the eye on the ball and deliver to the fans.

"I've learned that we need to keep up with the times and keep ourselves relevant. Don't lose the passion," he said.
DJ Jawz said giving up was not an option.
"I'm working on a lot of music (house, amapiano and Afro-beats) this year and collaborating with many artists and producers. I'll be travelling more and exposing my sounds to the world.
"I have Paris, London and the US lined up for shows coming up soon. I'll be doing my live stream, The DJ Jawz Live Stream about Fokol on YouTube with Luna Florentino," he said.
"Here we talk about our everyday events and top stories that make headlines. I've also started an event called Beats and Bites where people get to enjoy food prepared by myself and music played by myself and DJ Friends."
The musician has worked with Tshedi Malaika, Sanza LO, and Lindough on his latest single titled Naledi - a song about the light that comes after many struggles. The song will be released on 26 April.
