LINDIWE Mangazi, popularly known as DJ Golden Lady, believes her late dad is a good ancestor who is proud of her and is even helping her in her career.
The 34-year-old DJ is one of the biggest amapiano artists in England and has taken it by storm.
She's flying the South African flag high in the English country.
Lindiwe told Daily Sun that she started deejaying in 2017.
“Growing up, I was inspired by music; music was around me, and it became a calling. Later in my life, I decided to learn more about it. I started with deep house, then Afro-house, and now amapiano,” she said.
She said it’s an honour for her to be one of the amapiano DJs in England.
“Amapiano in England is a culture. There are so many people from different African cultures, so a community gathers strictly for amapiano,” she said.

She said that the music is loved by many people.
“Every weekend, there's an amapiano event. The music has become people’s lifestyle. It gives them hope and life, especially people from African countries who are alone in the country,” she said.
She said she has always wanted to do music.
“Music has been my comfort zone, my safe space; without it, I feel like I can’t connect to myself. My dad was a musical person and had music equipment, and his music surrounded me, and when he passed on, we carried on with his culture of music,” she said.
She said she connects with his father even when he has passed.
“Sometimes I ask myself why I am doing this. It’s not an easy career; I mean, I studied engineering, but I feel like I connect with my dad when I do music, and I feel like his presence still lives on, and some things are falling in line because my elders agree about this gift, and this is in memory of him,” she said.
Golden Lady said she will release new music at the end of the month.
“Most of the time, I come to South Africa and network with different artists,” she said.
