Siki said Zola is accepting the money that people are offering and the post sharing his banking details is real.
“Everything people need to know is on his Facebook page. If people follow Zola, they’ll know he’s not much of a social media person. He just comes on to say what he needs to say and disappears. He’s the one who posted that and those are the right banking details,” she said.
In the post, Zola said he has been receiving messages asking for his banking details and he is humbled by all the help people are offering.
“I’ve received hundreds of texts asking for my banking details. I see I’m trending on Twitter and plenty of people are offering financial assistance as gratitude. I’ve never expected anything in return for the help I’ve given people in need, but this is truly humbling. Initially I rejected this notion ngoba I’m a proud nguni man kodwa futhi kuthiwa ungabo jikisa isipho osphiwa sona. Ngakho, ngiyabonga Guluva Nation. I can’t respond to all of you kodwa here are the banking details eniwacelile,” he wrote.
Businesswoman and reality TV star, Shauwn "Mamkhize" Mkhize and her son, Andile Mpisane also visited Zola. Mamkhize advised people to help as well.
"Spending some much needed time with my brother @jamazola7. Guys, I just want to encourage all of us to do the right thing especially when it comes to one of our own. Zola is an unsung hero who has been a catalyst for change in our society for many years. Let’s not turn a blind eye," she wrote.
