THE scourge of gender-based violence (GBV) is alarming in Mzansi.
As a result, rapper and TV host Shelton “Forbez” Salie and his industry friend Big Zulu have teamed up to host a celebrity boxing match to raise awareness against GBV.
The Clash of Chiefs is headlined by Mzansi’s renowned rapper Big Zulu in his first-ever celebrity boxing match with other stars.
Shelton (31) from Eersterust, Tshwane, told Daily Sun that the event hosted by Roy Jones Jr and Jodi Solomon aims to create awareness and educate on gender-based violence as they stand firmly against domestic abuse and rape.
"I will be headlining the halftime show performance. I am not fighting anyone though.
“Proceeds from this event will go to The First Hartley Shelter and Sonke Gender Justice to aid them in the mission to create change in South Africa and contest this fight through sports,” he said.
The much-anticipated event will take place at AJ's In The Park in Graighall Park, Randburg, on 23 April.
