THE past three seasons of the TV series Black Tax captured the hearts and minds of viewers across South Africa, demonstrating that the story of black tax is far more than just a financial struggle.
Now the show is set to air its finale to the third season of the funny show on BET (DStv channel 129 on DStv) on Saturday, 23 September at 7.30pm.
This light-hearted family-driven show has evolved to depict the complex structures of family bonds, community support, obligation, guilt, alternative truths, heartbreak, the joy of providing, and much more within the context of black South African families.

In season three, the audience joined the journey of Thuli, played by Jo-Ann Reyneke, as she navigated the multifaceted challenges of modern life in South Africa.
“My favourite part of the show was always getting to work with my family again. We’ve truly built an unbreakable bond.
“Other than that, I love the moments between takes. We aim to make each other laugh every day. We also love trying to make each other break character, and Sne was the easiest target,” she said.
Senior Vice President and DM Paramount Africa and Lead BET International, Monde Twala, said the success of Black Tax season 3 is a testament to the incredible talent of its cast and crew.
“BET extends its gratitude to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for their partnership in co-producing this extraordinary series.
“The show’s diverse and multifaceted cast brought their unique flavours to the show, setting it apart and making it a truly unforgettable experience,” Monde said.
