IT WAS a big weekend for Chymamusique and Zakes Bantwini.

The two won multiple Samas at Sun City, North West, on Saturday 27 August and yesterday.

Chymamusique won for the first time, walking away with three awards – Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Dance Album – for his album, Musique.

Zakes won the Samro Highest Radio Airplay Composers Award and in the Best Collaboration category for his hit song Osama, featuring Kasango.

The first night saw singers such as Thokozani Langa, Jumbo, Pulane Maphari and Yvonne Chaka Chaka winning, while Nomfundo Moh walked away with the Best Afro Pop Album Award for her album Amagama.

Dladla Mshunqisi’s Umshunqo Reloaded earned him the Best Gqom Album Award, and Amarato took home Best Kwaito Album for Ama Roto Vol 2.

Sun-El Musician and Azana walked away with Remix of the Year for Uhuru. Young Stunna bagged the Best Selling Artist gong for Notumato.

The second night of the awards saw musicians such as Blxkie, Msaki, Kabza De Small, and Black Coffee winning.

Amapiano producer DJ Kabza, who was leading in nominations, won in the Capasso Most Streamed Song of the Year category for his hit song, Abalele.

Joe Nina, Jimmy Dludlu and McCoy Mrubata were honoured with the Lifetime Achiever Award, and Black Coffee received the International Achiever Award.
