WHEN Big Nuz members Sibusiso "R Mashesha" Khomo and Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo died in 2015 and 2022, respectively, Danger was left all alone.
Now as the only surviving member of the kwaito group, he is fighting to keep the trio’s legacy alive.
Danger, whose real name is Mzingisi Tshomela, has released a Big Nuz EP titled Last Man Standing to pay tribute to his fallen colleagues.
The 40-year-old musician from Umlazi, KZN told Daily Sun life has been difficult since his group members left him alone, but life must go on.
“No matter how difficult it is, I don’t want the Big Nuz name to disappear. That's why I made sure I work hard to keep going. I made sure I kept the original sound of Big Nuz.
"I worked with many people we used to feature like DJ Tira, Lvovo and Mlu. It's produced by DJ Gukwa and Ngane," he said.
Danger said his EP has five kwaito-house and gqom songs and two of the songs were recorded with Mampintsha and R Mashesha while they were still alive.
“While I was busy cooking my first EP without them, I realised that there were recorded songs that were not released. I decided to feature them on the EP to pay tribute to them.

“I hope Big Nuz music lovers will also enjoy hearing their voices on the songs that were not released. The other three songs are new,” he said.
He said he wants people to start familiarising themselves with Big Nuz's new music without Mampintsha and R Mashesha’s voices.
“I will still continue to release Big Nuz music because I don’t want the trio’s name to disappear while I’m still alive,” he said.
