THREE years ago, she was the talk of the town, but as the barcadi movement gained popularity she finds her income dwindling.

Tshegofatso Mohale, popularly known as Tshego Bodese, said she doesn’t make money like she used to anymore, and she's appealing for help.

The 21-year-old from Maloka in Winterveld, Tshwane, revealed that she's struggling to make ends meet.

The barcadi singer is known for her sultry dance moves and videos on social media.

Daily Sun published a story about her under the headline: “Barcadi dancer twerks her way out of poverty!”

She told Daily Sun that when she started dancing in 2020, she used to get a lot of attention and that’s how she birthed her career.

“Turning my talent into a career was one of the greatest things I have done,” she said.

She said even though it was challenging and degrading, she still did it to put food on her family’s table.

“People called me names. Some said that I'm a prostitute and others said that I am a stripper. Despite every name I was called, I continued to work hard,” she said.

Tshego said her biggest dream is to build her family a house.

“The money I'm making isn’t getting where I want it to get. I save but it is slow,” she said.

She pleaded with SunReaders to help her build a house for her family.

“At this point I'm willing to start working a decent job. I know that dancing is my passion but if it isn’t making any money, it is a problem,” she said.

She said she wants to start a meat-selling business in her area, but she doesn’t have capital.

“I know there are good people out there who would help me, and I would appreciate it if they can come forth,” she said.
