AFTER his photos circulated on social media, many were concerned about him and wanted to help.

One of the people who came forth to help was Karabo Success Mokgara, popularly known as DJ Karri, who organised that Barcadi pioneer DJ and producer Elvis Maswanganyi, better known as DJ Mujava, get admitted to a rehabilitation centre.

On Friday night, 23 February, the 39-year-old was taken by Limpopo Anti-Drugs Gangsterism and Crime members to help him recover from his condition.

Daily Sun spoke to Mujava’s mum, Rose Maswanganyi, who said she was happy her son was getting help.

Rose told Daily Sun Mujava started music at a young age. She said after his overseas trip years ago, he started going in and out of hospital.

“He was always stressed out when he was not paid for his music. That made him sick," Rose said.

She said she wasn't aware that he was into drugs.

“I've never seen him taking drugs, and I don’t go with him to the streets. I wouldn’t know,” she said.

DJ Karri said he wanted to help Mujava because he is talented.

“He's a legend. I want him to come back to the game and make music,” he said.

The director of Limpopo Anti-Drugs Gangsterism and Crime, Philly Moloto, said they decided to help because they usually helped the nation.

“We help those who abuse substances, alcohol and those with anger problems and are troublesome,” he said.

He said they were going to help Mujava.

“I believe he needs to be checked thoroughly because it looks like his mind is not right.”
