UKHOZI FM’s Ingoma Ehlukanisa Unyaka Top 10 will be announced on Thursday, 1 December.
SABC spokeswoman Gugu Ntuli shared the news with Daily Sun.
Since Friday, 25 November, social media has been buzzing with artists asking their fans to nominate their songs.

Noah singer Betusile Mcinga told the SunTeam he was expecting his song to be in the top 10.
“I’m saying this because my song Noah is big. It has become a national anthem. It’s been trending for months now and I believe it deserves to be in the top 10. I hope we get this so a prayer song can cross over,” he said.
Maskandi artist Sibonelo “Ithwasa Lekhansela” Majola said: “My followers have been sending SMSes for nomination. I’m, therefore, hopeful my song Kawungodli will make it.
“If it doesn’t make it, I’ll be disappointed but I’ll try again next time.”
At this stage, it’s not clear what criteria will be used to choose the songs, but Ntuli assured the SunTeam the process would be fair and transparent to listeners. “The station will launch the campaign officially on its platforms, and the mechanics will be communicated to the listeners. SABC’s internal audit department will review the results. Listeners will be kept informed through an extensive communication campaign.
“The SABC has an internal audit department which operates independently from the radio stations or any other business units of the SABC,” she said.

She said that monetary prizes were only for listeners and not the artists.
“The competition is meant to reward listeners for their loyalty to the brand. To receive airplay on the biggest radio platform in the country is every artist’s dream. The station pays royalties to artists through collecting societies every year and provides paying platforms for artists to perform throughout the year,” she told the People’s Paper.
