WHEN Aviwe Gqomfa puts his mind to something, he never stops working hard until he sees it succeeding.
And, it is this dedication and passion to his craft that saw him getting recognised with the Best Artist Manager Recognition Award at the first South African Gospel Recognition Awards held in East London on Monday night, 7 November. The awards seek to acknowledge the role played by the gospel music industry in the Eastern Cape.

The Seymour-born Gqomfa, who manages heavyweight gospel artists such as Betusile Mcinga, Butho Vuthela, Yolanda Vuthela, Anele Sabani, Mr Vee Sholo and Unathi Ndzube, was almost reduced to tears by the accolade.
An emotional Gqomfa said: “I’d like to thank every gospel artist that has entrusted me with their craft. You all gave me a platform to showcase my abilities. I thank you so much and I dedicate this one to you.”
Following this recognition, Gqomfa said he will continue ensuring that he puts Eastern Cape gospel artists on the map through his Avee Connexion Holdings company.
Founder of the awards, Zoliswa Sontsi said they will work hard to see the awards grow.
