Road manager Sakhile Mkhize, who was driving the car, said: “The accident happened on the N2 in Hluhluwe, KZN. We were on our way to Durban from Eswatini and I was driving on the slow lane. I was driving behind a truck, but decided to pass it and change lanes. While trying to changing lanes, the truck suddenly made a U-turn, smashing into us.”

He added that they were all injured.

“I was treated on the scene and allowed to go home, but Gallo and Bello were badly injured and taken to hospital.”

According to Sakhile, the two were still in hospital but would be discharged soon.

“It was a bad accident but we thank God we survived. I don’t know the extent of the damage on the car, but the police took statements. A case was also opened but I still don’t have a case number.”

He added that the accident disturbed a series of events.

“We were supposed to attend DJ Tira’s event in Richards Bay but missed it. We’re also booked to perform at Black Coffee’s event on 5 November, but will not be able to attend.”

He further said they would be missing a lot of events due to the accident.

“And for this reason, we’d like to apologise to our fans, event organisers and everyone who was expecting to see us. This is beyond our control. In the same breath, I would like to thank our fans, friends and everyone who has been praying for us.”
