MANY people are still shocked by the death of AmaZulu striker, Bongi "Mdeva" Ntuli.
Those close to him are more shocked that he died on the day of his umabo, where Sinenjabulo was to bring gifts to the family of the groom.
The 32-year-old recently got married to AmaZulu CEO Sinenjabulo Zungu, and they were meant to have the umabo at Bongi’s home in Cato Ridge, west of Durban on Sunday, 5 November.
Sadly, Bongi passed away at Midlands Medical Centre on Sunday, 5 November, after losing a battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
A source close to Bongi and Sinenjabulo told Daily Sun everyone was shocked when Bongi died on the day meant to be his umabo.

“Although umabo was going to be postponed because he was in hospital, many people were shocked when he died on that day. The day for the umabo was set after the white wedding in September.
"Their white wedding was held at The Zunguness outside Pietermaritzburg, far away from Bongi’s home in Cato Ridge. So Sinenjabulo didn’t do umabo as she was required, but 5 November was set as the day to do it at Bongi’s home," said the source.
The source shared the umabo invitation and said all those who are close to Bongi and Sinenjabulo had already received the invitations.
“Bongi got ill two weeks ago and was admitted to hospital. He was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, but we were hoping he would get better soon and be discharged to continue with his traditional event as planned.
“Unfortunately, he died on that day, and we believe it was God’s plan,” said the source.
Sinenjabulo is the daughter of AmaZulu boss Sandile Zungu.
AmaZulu spokesman Philani Ndlela confirmed that Bongi was going to have umabo on 5 November, the day he died.
He asked that the club and Bongi's family be granted privacy to mourn. He said the memorial service will be held at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, 8 November.
