ALL that T.M.A_Rsa wanted was to be like his father.

But now the 15-year-old artist from Atteridgeville, Tshwane is deeper into it than he thought.

The young amapiano DJ and producer, whose real name is Tshehetso Shongwe, has music blood running through his body.

He is in grade 10 but has already released three EPs.

"I released my first EP titled Hold on EP when I was 11 years old. My second offering was titled Genesis (The Seed) and was released in 2022.

In early 2023 I released my latest song titled Ke Sgija Papa, which is making waves with its first single Uzwa," he said.

T.M.A_Rsa told Daily Sun that he was inspired by his musician dad, Thabz le Madonga.

"At the age of eight, I spent my time in my dad's studio watching him work. Then I asked him to buy me a PC. I installed Fruity Loops, a music production software, used headphones as a monitor and played the keys on the computer keyboard to learn how to produce beats," he said.

He said that when he was 10 years old, he started working on his first EP.

"I grew up with my dad making songs in the studio, and he was always playing music loudly in the car when he dropped me off at school every day. That could be another reason why I got hooked on it and was inspired. Plus, it looked cool to watch him on TV, and I wanted to do that, too," he said.

T.M.A_Rsa said that despite his love and passion for music, he still has time for his schoolwork.

"I mainly focus on music on weekends and school vacations. During the week, I put all my energy into schoolwork."

He said that he does not just want to be DJ and a producer, but also be on TV.

"I want to spread my music worldwide and also do TV and film. I do not want to limit my creativity."

He said he also wants to continue studying after graduating from high school.

"I want to study audio engineering at university. I also want to start a production school and teach music production and composition," he said.

Thabz le Madonga said he's proud of his son.

"I have supported him from day one until now. I even placed him with our record label, Ejarden Entertainment," he said.
