One of Africa’s biggest festivals, Afro Nation, will be taking over Ghana this December.

The Ghana version of the festival will be held on 29 and 30 December in Accra at Marine Drive, Black Star Square.

Musicians like Uncle Waffles, Major League DJz, Davido, Burna Boy, P-square, Stonebwoy, American rapper Meek Mill, and more, will be gracing the stages and entertaining their fans from all over Africa.

Ruddy Kwakye, the executive producer of the event, spoke to SunBuzz about what people can expect from this year’s festival.

“It will be two days of the festival and four days of parties. We’ll be showing what the festive season in Ghana looks like.

“There’ll be a world class stage, we will deliver the stages we used in Portugal. We’ll have a world class production so that we get the music right, the people right, the stage right, experience right, and everything will be right,” said Ruddy.

He also shared about how the festival came about.

“In 2019, when we started off, it was an urban beach festival. It started on a beach in Portugal. It’s basically about celebrating talent from the continent of Africa – everything black.

“On the forefront of that is Afrobeat and amapiano. These are predominantly the genres taking over Africa at the moment.”

When the festival was in Portugal in July, for the first time, amapiano artists had their own stage.

Tickets cost between R4 000 and R6 142.40 and are available on their website.
