ACTRESS Luyanda Zwane wants young people to look up to her.
The 19-year-old told Daily Sun her role as Sibongile on Mzansi Wethu's Sibongile & The Dlaminis means a lot to her and she wants to be the light for young people who have given up.
"This project has given me the platform to address the black child who has big dreams, but has obstacles along the journey of actively trying to make their dreams a reality.
"This project means being given the chance to be an antidote to the pain that is caused by your dreams being on hold and a vessel of hope to the struggling black kid who has enormous dreams. People must expect authenticity and honesty from me through the Sibongile role," she said.
She said Sibongile lost her mother at a very young age and had to navigate life with the guidance of her evil and inconsiderate stepmother.

"She also didn’t get financial aid for her studies and the solution was to work as a maid after her stepmum gambled the money Sibongile’s dad offered to pay for Sibongile’s studies.
"While undergoing adversity, Sibongile learnt to always try to find an alternative plan that will place or lead you back to your initial plan," she said.
Luyanda said playing this role made her internalise that God will forever redirect you and you must just trust in the bigger plan.
"It also taught me how to fight tenaciously for your dreams and yourself," she said.
She said she wanted to show others that it is possible to live your desired dreams.
"My message to those who look up to me is that it is your gift that will usher you to a place of greatness. Just identify that gift and serve the world with it and just watch God elevate you and bring you before kings," she said.
