"Your contributions make a significant impact on the lives of those in need and your presence is vital in making this event a success. Once again, I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and I look forward to standing alongside you all in support of this great cause. Text,” read the statement.
According to the promotions company, the match will continue and Bohang will be replaced by Vaugh Thiel.
The managing director of Seconds Out Boxing and Entertainment, Akira Solomon, told Daily Sun that they cannot reveal the reason behind Bohang dropping out.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, he’s had to drop out and we cannot share the reason behind that. However, we hope that he’ll be able to fight again soon.
“This is a charity event, hence Bohang wanted to be part of it. We are promoting boxing and showcasing. That's about respect. It’s not just nonsensical fighting. It shouldn’t be linked to gender-based violence. We donate the proceeds to victims,” she said.
