ACTRESS Ingrid Paulus and her husband Denzel Vraagom are ready to move on from 7de Laan.
The couple has been part of the SABC2 soapie for more than 20 years, with Ingrid playing Vanessa Meintjies, and Denzel portraying Sheldon.
They are also directors of the show.
SABC announced in July that the long-running soapie would end this December after being on air for 23 years.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Ingrid (46) and Denzel (51) said they're shattered that it’s ending, but are moving on.
“There’s a lot of mixed emotions, but I came to a stage where I have accepted it. We’ve told some amazing stories over the past 23 years. I’m very proud to have been part of that production. All good things come to an end, unfortunately. Hopefully, one day, I’ll work with the same group of people I worked with on the show.
“To the fans, thank you always,” Ingrid said.

Denzel said new doors are opening for them.
“I’ve been in and out of 7de Laan as an actor and a director. It’s been a ride, especially having my wife by my side, going through that journey. Fortunately, I’ve been freelancing for 30 years, and I’m used to it. It’s her stepping into it now.
“However, it’s not a hurdle. It’s just opening doors again. It’s a new journey,” he said.
The couple revealed that they're working on a new project.
“We’re working on our own project at the moment. Getting into the producing roles, and we’ll be sharing stories we’ve always wanted to share,” Ingrid said.
“We’re also presenting and doing voice-overs,” Denzel said.
