FASHION designer Lindani Ndwandwa is ready to grace the small screens as a stylist.

Lindani, who’s the founder of Gospel Meets Fashion, has scored himself a gig as a stylist on Honey’s new show, Shine Shine.

The show that’s hosted by actress Mbali Nkosi will see Lindani giving people a makeover.

The show which starts today, Wednesday 17 February, will air on Honey, channel 173 at 5.30pm.

Lindani told Daily Sun the people who receive makeovers are nominated by their loved ones.

Shine Shine is a makeover show where someone is nominated either by their friends or family. They ask us to spice the person’s wardrobe up and teach them how to dress. That’s the motivation behind the show,” he said.

“The person who nominates the person and the person who’s nominated both come to the show and they meet Mbali. After speaking to Mbali, she brings them to my wardrobe department, then from there, they go do hair and make up,” said Lindani.

The stylist, who has dressed celebs such as Terry Pheto, Penny Lebyane, Katlego Danke and Ntokozo Mbambo, said he was approached to work on the show.

“I was approached last year, just before Christmas. They told me about the show and I was interested in it. We recorded the pilot and it was approved. We’ve recorded all 26 episodes now,” he said.

Lindani said he enjoyed working on the show.

“Everyone was different, there were people who were complete disasters and we needed to transform them. But most people went through major changes, some would cut off their hair, some even dye their hair. People even wore clothes they never thought they’d wear.

“So, I basically changed everyone who came. Also, everybody who came to the show was excited about the makeovers. No one resisted the makeovers. This is definitely something I’d love to do again,” he said.

The designer hasn’t hosted his annual show, Fashion Meets Gospel, (FMG) in two years but he said he’s ready to host it again.

Lindani said: “I wasn’t hosting the event because I wanted to take a production break and rework the concept. I wanted to present it differently. FMG ran the same way for seven years and I thought I needed a creative break, so I came back with a new version of Fashion Meets Gospel. But I’m more than ready now. Unfortunately, I can’t do a virtual vent because FMG is a people-based event, otherwise, I am ready.”

Catch Lindani on Shine Shine on Honey, channel 173, tonight at 5.30pm.
