Yes, that’s no typing error - Mazda’s new SUV is called the CX-30!

Mazda doesn’t even try explaining the name so we won’t either. The CX-30 slots right between the CX-5 and the CX-3.

The CX-30 isn’t really an all-out SUV, Mazda doesn’t even hide it. It’s a crossover and that's that.

“The CX-30 was designed to be easy to drive. The increased height over a passenger car provides excellent visibility and makes getting in and out a breeze while the body size makes it easy to manoeuvre on any road and in any parking lot” the press material says.

So essentially what we have a here is a Mazda 3 on stilts. Just like the CX-3 is a Mazda 2 on stilts.

“Mazda wants drivers – and their passengers – to truly enjoy the many ways in which owning a car can enrich your lifestyle.

“We designed the Mazda CX-30 to help customers make stimulating new discoveries within their daily routine and share them with the people they love,” Noahito Saga, program manager for the said.

So the Sky-Active platform has been given thorough working so it delivers a refined quality area. And the car should be as fun to drive as the Mazda 3.

The cabin looks nice and upmarket and the NVH levels have been hushed out to ensure that not only that the cabin looks serene but it is also serene to be in too.

A range of petrol and diesel engines will be offered on the car including the revolutionary Sky-Active X engine which promises petrol engine pull and performance with diesel-like economy.
