THE FACTS

Sydney Mthombeni from White City, Soweto, said his father bought a house from a woman who claimed she was the owner.

Before the house could be registered, his father died. Now, the woman claims she never intended to sell her house.

ADVICE

The agreement remains valid and enforceable, even if the seller or buyer dies.

Because the buyer has died, the appointed executor will have to act on behalf of the estate. Seek expert advice to challenge the seller’s decision to backtrack on her word.
