ALTHOUGH doctors removed the pair of scissors from her son’s head, his mum is still a worried.

The 28-year-old from Ashdown, Pietermaritzburg, said her 11-year-old son was having daily seizures.

The boy was rushed to Edendale Hospital on Wednesday after a friend stabbed him with scissors at school. The doctors left the scissors in his head for 24 hours while they figured out how best to remove them without complications.

“It was only late on Thursday when they decided to transfer him to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital in Durban for specialists to remove the scissors,” she said.

After the boy was operated on, he was sent back to Edendale Hospital where he was still being treated. “He is now having seizures every hour and that’s worrying me, even though doctors said I shouldn’t panic. My family is also worried, but we will continue praying and placing our faith in the doctors.”

She didn’t open a case because they’re friends with the culprit’s family.
