VOYEURISM is the practice of gaining sexual pleasure from watching others when they are naked or engaged in sexual activity.

It’s an act of naughtiness that got a 36-year-old man sentenced to 17 weeks in jail for filming a couple having sex in a cubicle of a public toilet in Singapore.

According to Tribune India, the man was sentenced on 16 August after pleading guilty to three counts of voyeurism.

It is reported that the man was near the activity lawn at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park on the evening of 28 October last year.

The court heard that the man filmed about three videos and took four to five photos of the couple using his phone.

“He returned to the same spot two days later. After waiting for some time, he saw the couple enter a shower cubicle. He went to the same adjacent toilet, climbed up on the basin, filmed them engaging in sexual intercourse and took photos of them,” the article read.

Tribune India reports that his last attempt was on 19 November last year, where he was caught filming another man’s girlfriend peeing.

The man was arrested at 3.30am on 20 November and his phone was seized.

Prosecutors in the country have since called for harsh sentences against such practices performed by perpetrators who violate the privacy of others.
