RESIDENTS at JB Mafora in Mangaung, Free State, woke up to a gruesome discovery on Tuesday, 8 February.
This after a gogo (65) was found dead at her house.
Lieutenant-Colonel Thabo Covane said a friend of the dead gogo visited her house on the day, only to find both the kitchen burglar proofing and door opened.
“The friend entered the house and found the bedroom turned upside-down. She called the neighbours, who in turn called the police. The neighbours had last seen the deceased on Sunday,” Covane said in a statement.
He said that cops discovered the body underneath a pile of blankets on the ground.
“The body had injuries and bruises, with an indication that the victim was assaulted with a blunt object or even strangled. A case of murder was opened at Kagisanong Police Station,” said Covane.
Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) is requested to contact Sergeant Mphisana Bucibo on 082 465 5945, or CrimeStop on 08600 10111.
