FOLLOWING heavy rains in Gauteng over the past week, they have resulted in flash floods around the province on Thursday night.
The SA Weather Service warned residents of Free State, North West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal to expect heavy rains.
Meanwhile, an unsuspecting driver of a Mazda 6 driver escape without injury after the car he was driving fell into a road, that had collapsed due to the heavy rain and flash floods on the road leading to Valhalla from the R55 in Centurion.
A tree that had fell into the road in Annie Botha Avenue in Riviera caused traffic jam.
Other areas of Gauteng experienced power outages in some northern suburbs, including Northcliff, have been reported.
However, Tshwane Emergency Services reminded all motorists to take extra care and avoid flooded roads.
Natural #Sinkhole or poor construction?Road which collapsed earlier in Gauteng rains.Time will https://t.co/8x63zSKqTU thing is certain shoddy workmanship leads to such incidents and public procurement has over time not given the state value for money. #flooding pic.twitter.com/DmiuOMcO5B
