PHOTOS showing nurses ignoring a patient who collapsed after an epileptic attack have angered people.

The photos, apparently taken at Dora Nginza Hospital in Zwide in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, appeared on social media.

They show two nurses walking past a patient who had fallen out of his wheelchair.

It’s uncertain whether the patient eventually received help at one of the largest health facilities in the Eastern Cape.

People have called for the nurses’ axing!

Eastern Cape Health spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said: “The matter is being investigated, so if there’s any wrongdoing on the part of the staff on duty, corrective measures will be taken.

“But we condemn publishing and distribution of these photos.

“People are free to report concerns through internal channels, including our toll-free number 0800 032 364.

“Publishing these photos violates the rights of patients.”

Disgusted people took to Facebook:

  • Glan Chisana Ka Mange said: “Forward me those pics via WhatsApp. I want to deal with it via labour relations.”
  • Sivuyile Tambo: “Heartless bastards.”
  • Ashudu Shushubear Gangala: “It’s a f***ed-up hospital.”
