THE cop loves his pigs, making sure that he cuts grass and collects leftovers to feed them.

On Saturday, Warrant Officer Thokozani Mkhonza (50) was tending to his hogs when three men approached and asked if he had jobs for them.

But his mistake was when he said no – the men attacked him and stabbed him in the eye!

The cop based at KwaThema cop shop said after he kindly told the men he didn’t have jobs for them, they accused him of being greedy and refusing to create jobs for others.

“Two of the thugs attacked with stones and the one of the men stabbed me in the eye with a knife,” he told Daily Sun.

Nearby residents saw what happened and rushed to the cop’s aid as the thugs fled.

Thokozani is recovering in hospital in Springs.

Captain Thabo Sibuyi said the incident happened at about 7.30am at Ekuthuleni squatter camp in KwaThema.

“A 19-year-old suspect was arrested the same day. The others are still at large.”

The suspect made a brief appearance in the Springs Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police urge anyone with information to contact KwaThema detectives on 011 812 4600.
