Local actress and ‘it’ girl, Nomzamo Mbatha has a message for all South Africa women.

The Isibaya actress is currently on the August cover of Cosmopolitan SA magazine, which has been dubbed ‘The Activism Issue’.

The star is serving all kinds of fierce looks in the spread with a black and white leotard number on the cover and a long, twisted pony tail that Beyonce would envy.

Apart from her speaking to the publication about the “rise of the female” in Africa, Nomzamo also wrote a letter to all Mzansi women which has been turned into a video showing behind-the-scenes footage of her cover shoot.

“I want to say that no matter where you come from, no matter where you started, never doubt your brilliance. Never silence your voice to injustice, nor bow down to the nay-sayers who say you will never amount to anything,” the letter begins.

Nomzamo goes on to let women know that they have a superpower and it is their ability to rise above any situation.

The cover has left many social media users split over whether or not she was the right choice for the activism issue.

Some have called her a fraud because she “gets paid” to do good work and others have claimed that her good deeds only serve to advance her own career.

Meanwhile, her devout fans have come to her rescue, saying that no matter the motive, good deeds are good deeds.

Others have also called people out for being problematic for expecting all activists to be people who put their bodies on the line and risk their lives for a good course, claiming that even it’s subtlety, Nomzamo’s activism still does a lot of good in the world.
