Honouring and celebrating the late former Minister of Public Service and Administration and celebrated musician Collins Chabane, the much-loved annual cultural heritage festival returns and promises to be bigger and better. Now in its third year and brought to you by Kincha Media, the festival is set to take place on 25 May 2019 at the Malamulele Stadium, in Limpopo. The line-up consists of some of South Africa’s biggest stars such as Lady Zamar, Zola, DJ Ganyani, Master KG and King Monanda as some of the headlining acts. Staying true to its theme the highly acclaimed event will also see Limpopo’s finest traditional music artists such as Benny Mayengani, Joe Shirimani, Makhadzi, Kanda Bongo Man (DRC) and many more taking to the stage.
“This festival seeks to develop young musicians, profile the indigenous culture and languages through music,” said King Chauke, CEO of Kincha Media. Chauke, who is also the founder of the festival, added that in further celebration of Chabane, his band members will take fans on a nostalgic journey with some of their greatest hits.
“This event will have the best that music has to offer across different genres. It will be an all-rounder entertainment day,” said Chauke. Adding, “Not only will we be focusing on music but the festival will include other activities such as a business skills development workshop the day before the concert (24 May) and the much loved soccer tournament the day after (26 May).”
Running from 6pm – 6am, this year’s festival is one not to be missed. With tickets selling fast fans are urged to secure their entry to festival before it’s too late. Available at Shoprite, Usave and Checkers, ticket prices start from only R100 for general access, R200 for golden circle, R500 for VIP and R1200 for VVIP.
Over 40 traditional leaders, MP’s and artists are expected to attend the celebration of the late honourable Minister Collins Chabane.
