Zodwa Wabantu has missed out on a big opportunity.

According to sources, the dancer and socialite was set to have her own marquee at the VDJ but all those preparations were dashed.

“I can confirm that I was going to have my own marquee at the VDJ. I was going to do this in partnership with an alcoholic beverage, Whitley Neil. Everything was set including the list of guests, DJs and celebrities but due to lockdown I had to cancel it. It’s a bitter sweet moment for me, I say this because this was going to intensify my brand as Zodwa Wabantu also it was meant to be one of my great achievements in my career,” she said.

Lucky Matshazi of Whitley Neil also confirmed that they were going to work with Zodwa.

“There’s no doubt that Zodwa Wabantu has become a household name, she is a big brand right now. We’ve been following her for sometime and over the past few years she had become the main attraction of VDJ. As a result we were looking forward to partner with her and sponsor her marquee with our gin. Unfortunately, we are not able to disclose much about our contracts, all we can say is that everything was set until the latest announcement of VDJ. But going forward we are looking forward to working with her in other projects,” said Lucky.
