“Thank you #1millionviews. What a great feeling to be back in Cape Town for my first show of 2022. Thank you #themet. To everyone who clicked view and watched #Osama on @youtube thank you abundantly. Cheers to an amazing year ahead,” he wrote.
Zakes then posted an old video of himself working on Osama last year.
“This time last year I was making Osama at home during lockdown. I could have never told you that I would see it’s success to be what it is now. Today marks one year since I worked on that instrumental in Durban and with your support we’ve also reached 1 million YouTube views on the same song,” he wrote.
“You are all a huge part of our success. Thank you to Kasango, Nana Atta and Karyendasoul who played a huge role on this record,” he continued.
The song took the social media streets by storm before it was released and even after its release, people were sharing it. The music video features internationally-acclaimed actor, John Kani.
