AFTER the SABC gave Uzalo’s writers strict instructions to get rid of boring storylines, they went back to the drawing board.

According to actor Masoja Msiza, the cast was given a sizzling script for season 5.

“We’re starting with the new storylines. I’m excited for viewers to see what we have in store.”

The actor, who plays ruthless Nkunzi Mhlongo, was grateful to be with the show after four years.

“As artists, we have it tough because our contracts are renewed every year. We never know if we’ll get new contracts, so it feels good to still be with the show,” he said.

Masoja, originally from Springs in Ekurhuleni, said he also makes music to inspire people.

“I’m shooting videos of the songs I recorded. I sing inspirational music that uplifts people.

“I visit orphanages, hospitals and old age homes. I want people to see hope when they look at me.”

The actor, a published author and poet, said he wanted to uplift people.

“There’s a lot happening in our country right now, and I want to motivate people with the word of God because people are going through a lot.

“I also have a YouTube channel that’s full of inspirational videos.”
