DJ TIRA has finally opened up about his split with Mampintsha.

Last year Mampintsha, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo, said Tira was telling lies about Big Nuz not being managed by Afrotainment.

But Tira tried to set the record straight on Tuesday’s episode of the MTV Base show, Behind the Label.

“A lot has been said in the past and there’s nothing we can do about that except to move on.”

Tira said Big Nuz was still in demand, which was why he announced he no longer managed the group.

Tira said: “People will paint me as a bad person, the third hand and all other bad things. I know the truth and I’m not going to confront him about lying to people. I know you’re the one who’s not ready to work on Big Nuz.

“I understand and support him because it’s what you want. Right now you want West Ink, Mampintsha, Babes to be recording and releasing music.”

Tira also addressed the Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s abuse allegations. He didn’t know which side to choose but said they did ask him to mediate.

“It’s not acceptable for men to beat up women. I’m not going to come in too hard because it’s what it is.”

Tira, whose real name is Mthokozisi Khathi, told Daily Sun that what’s in the past should stay in the past.

“Things between us are good. I’m with him and he’s shooting his music video,” he said.

“A lot has been said in the past and there’s nothing we can do about that except to move on.”

Mampintsha’s manager Phila Tshomela said they received a call from the show’s production team.

“Mampintsha was busy. It was at short notice,” he said.
