REFILWE Modiselle wants to use her influence to help kids with low vision.
The TV presenter and actress wants to partner with a specialist and donate spectacles to poor kids living with albinism and low vision.
But it has to be someone with the means and equipment.
Low vision can’t be fixed through surgery, pharmaceuticals, glasses or contact lenses.
Refilwe recently learnt of a kid in her aunt’s class who’s living with albinism and whose glasses broke.
“She’s from a poor background and might not be able to get another pair soon. I decided I needed to do something.
“I realised it was something bigger because it might help others in similar positions.”

The award-winning actress, who starred in the film White Gold, has big plans.
“I’m planning to help as many as possible and not shut anybody out. Eyesight is very important.
“The glasses are expensive and prescriptions vary from child to child.”
Refilwe, who has eyesight problems, said a lot of doctors had volunteered.
“But my mind is not made up. I need to be fast and make sure the one I choose understands what I’m trying to achieve and understands low vision,” she told Daily Sun.
“I need to know if they’re willing to get their hands dirty and go into communities to do testing.”
