FORMER Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida has bid farewell to the Miss SA crown.

On Saturday, 16 October KZN-born beauty queen Lalela Mswane was crowned as the new queen, while the runner-ups were Moratwe Masima and Zimi Mabunzi.

Shudu, as she is affectionately known, took to social media to reflect on her reign.

“None of this would have been possible without God using me as a vessel, and the love and support of my family who have always let me know that my dreams are valid,” she said.

“To my grandparents, Vho Marandela na Vho Elias ndi a tenda uri vho Takala. To my Miss SA family, thank you for taking my dreams and helping me make them a reality. I want to say a huge thank you to South Africa for being my village. It takes a village to raise a child, and you have been that village that supported all my dreams and made them a success.”

She said with the Miss SA crown she carried so many conversations, dreams, hopes and the voices of South Africans.

“With each conversation and work, I wanted to let you know that I see you, and I hear you, and that you’re not alone - and you’ll never be. I love you all so much. Ndo livhuwa.”

The Miss SA 2021 pageant was held at the Grand Arena in Cape Town and was broadcasted live on Mzansi Magic and M-Net.
