A NEW show, titled 13 Weeks To Find Mr Right, is about to hit SABC1 screens.
YFM presenter Kea Zawadi will be playing Nkuli, the lead character on the 13-part romantic comedy series that premieres on Sunday, 6 February, at 7.30pm.
She will be starring alongside The Wife actor Bonko Khoza as Zakhele, Mohau Cele as Olwethu, Monnye Kunupi as Phumla, Didintle Khunou as Lerato and Lerato Mvelase as Elaine.
Announcing the show, SABC1 said it was based on the world of print and online media dating.

“The show will offer a unique and entertaining perspective on personal growth, dating, friendship and family. Nkuli is an ambitious young journalist who, in a desperate attempt to save her job, agrees to write an anonymous dating column to prove whether she can find Mr Right in 13 weeks. She ends up falling for one of her dates, Zakhele,” read the press release by SABC1.
“The series is a funny, tongue-in-cheek poke at internet dating in Joburg as we follow Nkuli’s escapades through the various social bubbles that exist – from the pulsing the city nightlife to quiet suburbs and boisterous townships. With Nkuli having to lead a double life and assume different personas, this series is a comedy of errors.
“The comedic suspense comes from Zakhele always on the verge of finding out Nkuli’s secret and her nosy, disapproving mother who knows that something is up with Nkuli, who keeps chopping and changing her dress style and interests every week. There is also the humour in Nkuli having to meet different men – from IT nerds to wannabe rappers.”
Roberta Durrant, the creative producer of Penguin Films, said: “Viewers can expect a refreshing and eccentric take on a romantic comedy, exciting characters and pop culture references that make the world, characters and story relatable.”
