POPULAR dancing trend #UmlandoChallenge has landed radio presenter and reality TV star Dineo Ranaka in big trouble.
Dineo has allegedly been suspended by Metro FM after partaking in the challenge that saw her dancing on top of the furniture at the station.
According to media reports, her suspension started on Monday, 17 January.
Dineo hosts The Bridge on weekdays between 9am to 12pm. The show’s popularly known for its segment Ask A Man, where listeners call in for advice about their relationships.
The challenge was started by musician Toss, with the aim of promoting his new single, Umlando with 9umba & Mdoovar featuring Mdoovar, Lady Du, Sino Msolo, Young Stunna, Slade and Sir Trill on social media. It ended up going viral with many South Africans, especially men, taking part.

Dineo was not left behind as she also joined the challenge, resulting in her video circulating on social media. Some people then commented that she did not ace the challenge. And just as they were not happy, Metro FM also took action against her.
In the video, she is seen dancing on two tables and a chair in the passage.
Radio presenter Marian Nyako-Lartey, who hosts The Wind Down between midnight and 2am, has been holding the fort on Dineo’s show since Monday.
Gugu Ntuli, SABC group executive for corporate affairs and marketing, told Daily Sun they could not discuss the matter.
“The SABC can confirm that Dineo is not scheduled on Metro FM at this stage and as a matter of principle, the corporation does not discuss matters relating to its independent contractors in public. Marian is currently standing in for the show,” she said.
