16 Days of Activism against women and children abuse is well
under way and rapper Pitch Black Afro remains behind bars.
Pitch Black Afro, whose real name is Thulani Ngcobo, has been in jail since January after Daily Sun broke the story that he allegedly killed his wife Tricia Modisane on the 31st of December last year at a BnB in Bellevue near Yeoville.
He is facing charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice after trying to conceal evidence that contributed to his arrest.
Pitch Black Afro also denied claims by the state that he stuffed a pad onto Modisane's private parts.
He claimed, when questioned by the investigators, that the blood they found in their room was from her menstruation.
And despite having allegedly confessed to having assaulted her on the night she died, Ngcobo has since changed his tune on that and said he did not lay his hands on her.
The rapper has appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court several times where bail has been denied to this day.
Pathologist Robert Pule previously explained to the court that the deceased sustained injuries that led to blood clotting in her brain.
A SAPS member who refused to be named said the rapper’s trial will begin next year and he has since been denied bail.
