TELENOVELA Durban Gen has cleared the rumours about losing yet another of its top actresses.

Reports were circulating that Duduzile Ngcobo, who plays Dr Nomalanga Qwabe, had left the e.tv show.

Viewers last saw her character two weeks ago, before she left the country to treat cancer. She had appointed Dr Lindelani Zulu, played by Mike Ndlangamandla, to her top position as head of Durban General Hospital.

This sparked rumours that she had left the telenovela for good.

But the show’s spokeswoman Nomfundo Zondi said Duduzile’s disappearance was part of her storyline.

“The rumours are not true. Duduzile hasn’t left the show. She’s still part of the show and busy shooting upcoming episodes.”

Durban Gen reportedly has been releasing popular actors, who allegedly aren’t going to be seen in Season Two starting in October, including Thulani Shange, who plays Dr Mandla Ngcobo and Ntando Mncube, who plays Sibusiso Dlamini.
