NIGERIAN music superstar Burna Boy has given Mzansi the middle finger!
This evening the international award-winning artist sent Twitter into chaos with his series of tweets about the alleged xenophobic violence in Mzansi.
“Ok. I have been away from social media personally until today. Ordinarily at a time like this, I should come here and say something to try and calm the situation because my Dream has always been to Unite AFRICA and make us realise that Together we will literally rule the world...”
He then said he was boycotting Mzansi because his fellow Nigerians were being treated badly.
“I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the fuck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.”
In his loaded tweets he even tagged Mzansi’s superstar rapper AKA telling him to beef up his security.
The two once collaborated in the 2014 smash hit All Eyes On Me by AKA.
Burna Boy’s anger towards Supa Mega may be linked to tweets which angered some Nigerians accusing the Mzansi star of fuelling the xenophobic tensions.
AKA had tweeted, “South Africa and Nigeria is the continent’s BIGGEST RIVALRY.
A Twitter user wrote, “Y'all SA artists are cancelled! Stop asking our industry for favs “to which AKA responded, “Cancel us then. We’ll stay here in Sandton and suffer.”
Burna Boy is scheduled to perform at the Afropunk festival in Joburg on December 30 and 31 alongside local and international musicians.
