FORMER referee and PSL general manager, Andile “Ace” Ncobo, has come through for Senzo Meyiwa’s daughter, Namhla.
Last Monday he had promised to donate R1 500 to the 14-year-old every month until she turned 21.
“Senzo embodied the full spirit of football and was an agent for social cohesion,” he had said.
“It’s in the memory of that spirit that his child should never be reminded of his absence by hunger pangs.”
On Saturday morning, Ace deposited the money, keeping his promise. This came after donor Red Farm dropped Namhla.

The company donated R1 500 every month between February and May, but had to stop due to financial problems caused by the lockdown.
“We didn’t see this one coming. For that reason we’d like to apologise to Senzo’s daughter and the Meyiwas,” the company said.
However, the company has now reversed its decision and will also continue donating towards Namhla’s upbringing.
Senzo’s mum Ntombifuthi, who’s been looking after Namhla since she was born, confirmed she’d received the money.
“First I’d like to thank Daily Sun for telling our story.
“It’s been hard on me, but with the money I’ve managed to buy food for Senzo’s daughter. I hope he can see this.
“Secondly, I’d like to thank Ace Ncobo and Red Farm for donating the money.
“I can confirm that I received the money. I’m truly grateful.”
