MITSUBISHI Motors South Africa (MMSA) has its sights firmly set on making the popular Triton the bakkie of choice for fleet owners as well as small and medium enterprises.
The Triton Double Cab GL features Mitsubishi’s proven dual overhead camshaft intercooled turbodiesel engine, with 100kW of power and 324Nm of torque, making the range more accessible than ever before.
Slotting in at entry point of the Triton line-up, it is exclusively available as a 4X2 with a six-speed manual transmission.
Befitting its status as a capable and dependable bakkie, the Double Cab GL features a limited-slip differential, 75-litre fuel tank and 245/70R16 alloy wheels. Seats are covered in high-grade durable fabric.
“Fans of the brand have shown interest in a more robust commercial vehicle range, and MMSA is happy to oblige by introducing the Triton Double Cab GL,” said general manager: marketing at MMSA, Jeffrey Allison.
It has impressive fuel consumption figures of 8L/100km in a combined cycle.
Underneath its contemporary styling is a rigid ladder chassis, ensuring robust handling and stability no matter the condition of the road.
Up front, the double wishbones with coil springs and stabiliser bar deliver poise and responsiveness while the rugged above-the-axle leaf spring rear suspension provides outstanding traction and load-carrying capacity of up to 1-ton.
Sweetening the pot even further in the commercial vehicle space is the extension of MMSA’s after-sales offering. The commercial vehicle line-up, including the Triton Double Cab GL, is now covered by a three-year/100 000km warranty, five-year/90 000km service plan and five-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance. Service intervals are set at every 10 000km.
