JUDGE Ratha Mokgoatlheng, who is presiding over the slain former Bafana Bafana footballer Senzo Meyiwa trial in North Gauteng High Court on Tuesday, 24 April, said lawyer Thulani Mngomezulu has revealed that two men known to him paid a visit to intimidate or kill him.
"There is a disturbing message I received, or I got from Mr Mngomezulu, which he suspects arises from the fact that he is counsel in this matter. It appears there are two persons that visited his home this morning.
"Very suspicious persons. Fortunately, when they tried to enter the premises of Mr Mngomezulu, the dogs barked," Mokgoatlheng told the court.
"These individuals are known to him. They behaved suspiciously. Mr Mngomezulu suspects they were out to harm or injure him or kill him because that is what happens in South Africa," Mokgoatlheng said.

The Judge called the police to keep a close eye on protecting him.
"As the officer of the court, Mr Mngomezulu is entitled to protection by the South African police," said the Judge.
Mngomezulu, who is the lawyer for accused one Muzi Sibiya, on Monday, 23 April, ruffled feathers when he said he would subpoena famous singer Kelly Khumalo, legendary music producer Sello Chicco Twala, and Orlando Pirates boss Dr Irvin Khoza to be cross-examined.
Earlier on the day, Sergeant Batho Mogola, one of the investigators in the case, maintained that Khumalo was the mastermind.
Advocate Charles Mnisi, representing accused three, Mthobisi Mncube, challenged her on the accused who allegedly killed Meyiwa.
Still, she stood her ground and said evidence pointed to the suspects in the dock.
