TSHEGOFATSO Mekgoe is determined to help those in need through his phenomenal foundation.
The 35-year-old, originally from Luka village in Rustenburg, North West, is founder of the Tshegofatso Mekgoe Foundation.
He is passionate about helping those in need, especially during this time of year where many kids cannot afford Christmas clothes or toys.
Tshegofatso told Daily Sun that helping the less-fortunate was a passion he discovered in 2015.
“Before the formation of the organisation, I saw poverty while busy doing door to door, and it reminded me of where I come from. So, I will always be grateful for what I have today hence I want to share with those who do not have anything,” he said.
He added that he would be holding his first annual event, in his home town, called Village Irock Festival, aimed at raising more funds to help those less-privilege.
“Village Irock Festival is an initiative that came about to help students around Rustenburg. We then decided to host an event of this magnitude. It’s all about music, food and lifestyle. It’s special as it’s about helping those in need.”
Tshegofatso further said what made it different was that it was the first of its kind, and all proceeds would be going to children in need and education.
He told the SunTeam that his foundation did not only focus on handing out clothing, but also sanitary towels, blankets and school uniform.
“We also have an annual tournament that started in 2016 on 16 June, attracting over 3 000 people, and a charity fun marathon,” he said.
