PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa has urged South Africans not to have tlof tlof on the morning of 29 May.
He said people should consider tlof tlof after they return from casting their votes.
Ramaphosa said this while addressing residents in Strand in Cape Town on Saturday, 4 May.
He said:
He said people must just brush their teeth and run to the voting stations. Those who sleep alone should consider setting an alarm to wake up early.
Ramaphosa said voting for his party is the only way to change the challenges which people are currently facing. Among other things, he promised employment and increasing the social grant money.
When Daily Sun spoke to residents about Ramaphosa’s promises, some questioned if he was telling the truth, or he just wants to get votes.

“Politicians lie. They are out there to get votes by hook or by crook. I don’t believe anything that comes from the ANC or DA. Why didn’t they change or deliver on whatever they promised?
"The same things they told us in the 2021 elections are the same things they are telling us today. We're still swimming in sewerage, but the DA promised to fix all this. We still have serious unemployment in the country, and the ANC has promised to create jobs. They want votes, that’s all,” said one of the residents, Nombongo Buyeye (37).
However, some community members believe Ramaphosa will deliver.
Wandisa Nyubane (48) said: “He gave us the R350 grant which he promised to increase to R370. Why do we think he can't deliver on other things?"
